In 2007 I began my career as a School Counselor, spending my earliest years in the field at the high school level. My work with students and their families was primarily focused on college prep and graduation requirements. In 2012 I moved to the elementary level, where I have found my true passion. In this setting, my day is spent working directly with our elementary aged students and school staff. My experience supporting parents and coaching families to gain confidence in their parenting choices is what brings me to you. Parenting is hard. Our children are their best selves socially, emotionally, and academically when the parent foundation is strong and when parents feel confident in their parenting. My goal as a coach is to help bring out the best in a family. Together we can explore your challenges and make a plan of action. Parents set the tone for the environment in which their children will grow. I have extensive training and experience in social emotional wellness, child development, and positive parenting strategies. Research shows that strong parenting while children are young in their formative years builds resilience. Resilient kids will be equipped for the challenges they will encounter on their path to adulthood. Just when you think you have something figured out, a new challenge arises.
When I am not at work, I am a mom of two boys, ages 12 and 9. Juggling work, schedules and the house is always a challenge! I try to find some time for myself and when I do, I enjoy playing tennis, reading and walking. I find that this โmeโ time, even if itโs for twenty minutes a day, helps me hit the reset button to be the best mom I can be.
