Biography

Beck Goodman, M. Ed, is a private early childhood educator with a decade of experience of working with students. As a Teach for America alumna and experienced private tutor for younger children, Beck uses a play-based pedagogy to meet her students’ academic and developmental needs, encouraging each child to be experimental, creative, and imaginative in their learning and decision-making. She is dedicated to the guiding principle that education should be fun, interactive, and, most of all, empowering. For each of her students, Beck instills a foundation of self-confidence and love of learning that will last a lifetime.

Beck began her education career at the YMCA, ensuring that all programming was developmentally appropriate and engaging for the thousands of families served — and that every child, regardless of ability, experienced success when given the tools and support that they needed. Since earning her master’s degree in education, Beck served as a classroom teacher and now works full-time with families in Manhattan to provide their students with the academic and social-emotional skill building that paves the path to success.

Beck offers a bespoke learning experience for her students, one that is crafted by her students’ academic and developmental goals, the tools and techniques that will allow them to meet those goals, and a proven track record of her students’ growth. Outside of working with kids, Beck can be found on the Upper East Side, drinking lots of coffee, planning her wedding, and taking long walks in Central Park.
