Biography

Beryl has been working with children since as long as she can remember and tutoring since her college days. She knew from early on that teaching was her passion and that she wanted to devote her life to helping children. She has worked with students from ages three all the way through high school, and is currently a second grade special education teacher with the DOE.

Beryl has a plethora of resources to help meet the needs of all different types of learners. She graduated SUNY Geneseo with a degree in both Elementary and Special Education. She has since received an early childhood certification as well as a Master’s in Literacy.

Beryl wants to get to know the individual needs of every student and design a program where the student feels supported and thrives. She takes a hands-on approach and understands there is no one size fits all.

The upbeat energy she brings to each student she works with is contagious. Showing students that you love what you are doing helps them to love what they are doing. Students voices need to be heard and Beryl provides that enabling all students to achieve their maximum potential, both in and outside the classroom.

Outside of working with students Beryl loves running, competing in many races, including the NYC marathon. She also loves watching sports, although being both a Mets and Jets fan is challenging.
