I’m a native San Diegan, father, and an aficionado of basketball, vintage video games, pitchy karaoke, and trying to convince my son that Star Wars was much better back in the day. I played college basketball at St. Mary’s College and Whittier College, where I earned my B.A. in Psychology in 2002. I understand that students are pulled in multiple directions with school, sports, and other extracurriculars, so I make sure all the work my students do is necessary for their improvement. Students need to understand what a test is asking them to do in order to answer the questions quickly and accurately, so I stress the “why” in test prep, not just the “what.” I want to demystify standardized tests for my students so they can see tests the way an expert tutor does.
