Biography

There are a few tutors who have been doing this for so long and who have been involved in the industry at so many different levels as Dan Edmonds. He has led R&D for two major test prep companies, written or contributed to innumerable test prep and admissions books, trained or mentored hundreds of tutors, and worked with thousands of students. He is a true pro. It is no surprise that Dan is a regular contributor to Forbes and Time magazines on educational topics, and is at the top of the list of education editors around NYC.

When it comes to students, Dan is a great diagnostician. He will figure out each student’s particular needs and then will adapt his approach and his comprehensive content knowledge to the particular idiosyncrasies of each program.

Dan takes particular delight in connecting with high scoring students who need someone with true proficiency to wring the last few points out of a test, be it the SAT, the ACT, a Subject Test or an academic program. He also loves helping strong students with weak test-taking skills understand how tests are structured and how to best attack them to make their scores shoot up. Finally, Dan has an extensive background in art and literature, and greatly enjoys working with students who have a passion for more creative pursuits.
