Biography

Gabrielle Deveaux is an honors graduate from New York University. She served as a Special Education Teacher and Instructional Specialist with the NYC Department of Education for eight years. Prior, Gabrielle also worked in Children’s Mental Health for 3 years at the NYU Child Study Center. Gabrielle has served as a key-note speaker in several seminars through NYU Child Study Center around the treatment and understanding of ADHD within the classroom and in the home environment.

Gabrielle is trained in Wilson Reading System, Fundations (Wilson Language Basics for K-3), Recipe for Reading, Handwriting without Tears, Orton-Gillingham Approach, Teacher’s College Reading & Writing Program, and Words Their Way Word Study Program. Gabrielle also spent considerable time in Italy exploring international education particularly, researching the early-childhood educational philosophy behind the Reggio Emilia approach and building a supportive yet exploratory instructional environment.

Gabrielle enjoys incorporating instructional methods encouraging curiosity and playful exploration while increasing reading and mathematical skills and abilities. Gabrielle has a reputation for outstanding academic results and making the learning process as fun for her students as possible. She specializes in Kindergarten Readiness, Elementary Education, Character Education, Life Skills, Executive Functioning and preparing students for the AABL, ISEE, ECAA.
