Biography
Julie Benko is a beloved and highly sought-after tutor with a decade of teaching experience. She tutors the SAT, ACT, SSAT, ISEE, SAT Spanish, SAT Literature, and SAT US History exams, as well as academic subjects and study/organizational skills. Former students have gained admission to such prestigious universities as Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Tufts, Wesleyan, and University of Virginia, as well as top secondary schools including Deerfield Academy, The Thacher School, and many others.
A native of Connecticut, Julie moved to New York City to pursue her passions for music and acting. Since graduating from New York University with honors, Julie has performed on and off Broadway, sung with symphonies across the nation, and even appeared on the Academy Awards. She released her debut jazz album in 2017 and is currently an MFA Acting candidate at NYU’s acclaimed Tisch School of the Arts. She loves volunteering her musical talents at nursing homes and hospitals and is the proud guardian of “retired” street cat, Thelonious Monk (also known as Monkey the Cat).
