Biography

Adversity sets the atmosphere for miracles to happen. Keith’s greatest experience with adversity was my own path to college. Born to one parent who did not finish high school and another parent who completed one year of college, the path to Princeton wasn’t easy. Were it not for lessons in grit taught at home, a very concerned college counseling team and the support of a college access coordinator, Keith’s dreams of attending a top college would have never come true. Even on the day of his high school graduation, his sickly father, recovering from a five-artery bypass surgery, would miss his valedictory.

Now, Keith Wilkerson is an educator with more twenty years of experience in demystifying the private school and college application processes, making the process more of a personal exploration than an stress-inducing enigma. He has worked for non-profit organizations and in private practice, helping students through recruitment, placement, and support. Keith is a standardized testing specialists, working with students to prepare the SAT, ACT, SAT subject tests, SSAT, and ISEE. He has also helped students to prepare for the GRE and MAT. Keith has worked with students coast-to-coast with his students attending high schools as far flung as the College Preparatory School in Oakland, CA, Holy Innocents Episcopal School in Atlanta, GA, Horace Mann and Spence in NYC, and Harriton, Episcopal Academy and Friends Central School on the Main Line, right outside of Philadelphia. His last group of students are attending Stanford, the University of Pennsylvania, Barnard, MIT and the University of Southern California among others.

A graduate of Princeton University, Keith holds a bachelor’s degree in Religion with a certificate of proficiency in African-American Studies. And with 21 years of experience, over 200 workshops conducted, 1,500 students placed in school, and more than 7,000 families counseled on educational options for private school education and college, Keith has the experience to help good students reach great goals as they apply to the nation’s top colleges.

He enjoys photography, travel and the occasional game of chess in his free time.
