Biography
Nick Cherneff graduated from Brown University with a BA in Psychology and has been a professional test prep tutor and college advisor (and amateur performance anxiety therapist) for over fifteen years.
Nick has worked with everyone from fifth graders to graduate students, and he prides himself on tailoring bespoke tutoring programs to meet each student’s specific needs. He teaches everything from basic composition to calculus, specializing in the SAT, ACT, SAT Subject Tests (Math 1 & 2, Literature, US History), and AP exams (AB Calc, Statistics, Language, Literature, US History, Psychology).
Over the years, Nick has learned there are so many intangibles to being a great test-taker beyond just basic content knowledge and retention, which is why he regularly incorporates useful aspects of performance psychology into his tutoring practice to help students conquer testing anxiety and unlock their full potential.
Nick has also helped hundreds of students with college admissions, applications, personal statements, supplements, and interview prep‚ garnering acceptance letters from nearly every top-tier school in the nation, as well as several overseas.
Nick lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Tina, and their dog, Benny. If he’s not tutoring, he’s almost definitely writing, cooking, playing guitar, or doing the crossword.
