Biography

Niki Nounou is an elementary educator and private tutor with over ten years’ experience working with students from pre-K through middle school. She has taught Kindergarten, First, and Second grade at Hewitt, the Brearley School and the Dwight School in New York City. Niki currently teaches Fourth grade at an independent school in Delray Beach, Florida.

Niki grew up on the Upper West Side of Manhattan and graduated from the Horace Mann School. She always knew she wanted to teach and work with kids. Niki received her Bachelor’s degree in Spanish with a minor in education from Mount Holyoke College and her Master’s in Early Childhood Education from City University of New York.

A fun, energetic, and patient tutor, Niki believes that children learn best through games and play. She has created and implemented many hands-on activities for students across all levels to engage and spark their curiosity while fostering a life-long love of learning. Her tutoring provides students experiencing a wide variety of learning differences with the support and skills they need to be successful both in and out of the classroom.

Niki connects with her students and uses their interests to help them process information while developing confidence in themselves and their skills. She is their biggest cheerleader and is well suited to quickly and effectively assess and accommodate her students’ needs. Niki breaks down information step-by-step so students can easily understand and contribute in the classroom, the community, and beyond.

When she is not tutoring or teaching, Niki enjoys running in the park, playing field hockey, and cooking up new recipes in the kitchen.
