Biography

I began tutoring students in mathematics when I was a sophomore in college. By the time I began college, I had already tutored more than 100 students, helping most of them to get 90’s on all of their math tests.

Throughout college and graduate school, I tutored about 20 to 30 hours per week. All of my clients came through word of mouth. During this time I continued to grow as a tutor and expand.

In 2001 I received my PhD in mathematics, began working as math professor, and also started teaching SAT prep classes. Over the next 10 years I field tested many strategies for standardized tests, and everything I learned was put into my first SAT math prep book, which I published in 2011.

From 2011 to the present I have been writing math books for standardized tests, while teaching college math classes, running classes for standardized tests, and tutoring higher level math. Thousands of students, teachers, tutors, and test prep companies use my test prep books, especially my “28 SAT Math Lessons” series. My latest publication is a more advanced math book called “Pure Mathematics for Beginners.”
