Biography

Yadir was born and raised in Casablanca, Morocco where he developed a passion for math and physics. After high school, he moved to the US to continue to pursue these interests and studied Engineering-Physics at Juniata College. In 2015, seeking a career in engineering, he transferred to Columbia University, where he majored in Mechanical Engineering and spent most of his time working in a robotics lab. After undergrad, Yadir stayed at Columbia’s engineering school to obtain his Master’s in Operations Research, concentrating in Analytics. Since then, he has been working as a data scientist in NYC and tutoring.

Yadir has experience tutoring in person and online and is happy to do both. He is a friendly, supportive tutor who likes to instill problem-solving principles that can be used in various STEM fields. He has tutored various levels of math, ranging from high-school level Algebra I to college-level Differential Equations. He also has experience TA-ing STEM classes in college.

Yadir has also spent a summer in South Africa where he TA’d and mentored a group of undergraduate tech company interns in a data science course. Building on that great experience, Yadir continued teaching intro level Python courses that focus on basic data analysis to high schoolers in NYC.

Having grown up in Casablanca, Yadir is fluent in French, and Arabic and can speak Spanish at an intermediate level; during college, he tutored local high school students in French. If Yadir isn’t tutoring or playing around with data, he can be found playing soccer somewhere in the city or binge-watching Curb Your Enthusiasm!
