Elite New York Tutor and Award-Winning Journalist
10 Years Tutoring
New York, NY
With years of professional tutoring experience, Zachary has developed tutoring programs for students that are as rigorous as the are engaging, balanced, and fun. Collaboration and flexibility are at the heart of Zachary’s practice; he understands that all students approach test preparation differently and therefore adjusts his strategies according to each student’s strengths and weaknesses. Not only does this create an efficient use of time, but it ensures that students continue to gain confidence ahead of test day. Further, he maintains open channels of communication with parents and academic/college counselors to keep everyone informed.
Having honed his pedagogy, Zachary has helped his students gain admission to the world’s most elite private school and universities. (He has even started instructing other tutors in his methods!) As a tutor, Zachary splits his time between students ages 12–22 for a wide variety of academic, testing, and essay-writing needs. Recent admissions stories from students include acceptances to Horace Mann, Tufts University, the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and Princeton University. Zachary also specializes with students who have LDs (learning disabilities) like ADD, ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, and Executive Functioning issues.
Zachary graduated from Columbia University with degrees in Art History and Political Science. He went on to receive his master’s degree from The Courtauld Institute of Art. He is a journalist based in New York who has written for publications including The New York Times, The Financial Times, and Artforum.
